Sharing Your Faith

Read It, Learn It, Live It, Share It

“So if anyone is in Christ, there is a new creation: everything old has passed away; see, everything has become new!" - 2 Corinthians 5:17

Where does faith come from? There is a question that has baffled the mind for years on end. Many have asked the question "Why are some people capable of believing something without experiencing it, while others cannot?" I have had this very discussion with several Pastor's over the past 15 years of my life, and discovered that there is no single answer. It must come down to a fundamental influence in each person's childhood. If you believe that we are all born, having been created by the Almighty God (as stated in Psalm 139), then where does the separation begin. I propose that it begins the moment we actually take a breath in this world. We are ALL born into sin, because of the decisions made by Adam and Eve in the garden.

This separation from our heavenly Creator traces all the way back in time to the original sin of mankind. What was the original sin though? It wasn't the fact that Eve ate an apple, it was the fact that the heart of man turned against the perfection that God had created in him. The desires of the world overruled their contentment in existing with God. This self-centered desire of the flesh continue to be mankind’s weakness to this day. As Christ stated in Matthew 26:41, "..The spirit indeed is willing, but the flesh is weak.". The desires of the heart will continue to weigh upon each of us, requiring us to seek answers. For many it is acceptable to live in this deceitful, unrighteous manner, separated from God. For me it is not.

Accepting that we have an inherently sinful nature, than what are the worldly influences that draw each of us back to God's word and eventually to live within His will? That is the church my friend. The church of Jesus Christ is global and encompasses believers of every nationality, race, creed and ethnicity. It is not a building or a congregation, it is not segregated nor competitive and it builds upon itself to grow stronger in many different ways, each as important as the other. The influence of the church on mankind over history has been immeasurable. We are now at a pivotal time in history once again where the church needs to take a stand. You and I have an incredibly important role in God's plan moving forward. A plan to change the world and influence people that for years have been blind to God's truth.

Think about your salvation for a moment.  Who introduced you to Jesus Christ?  Was it your parents, your family, your friends, your teacher or a Pastor in a pulpit on Sunday mornings.  Regardless, there was a time in your life when you went from a point of not fully believing in Jesus Christ, to a full faith without visual evidence.  You will touch someone in that same manner if you allow yourself to get outside of your comfort zone and speak the truth to someone.  Share the story of how you came to know Jesus Christ, become an impact in someone else’s life by using what God gave you – feet, hands, eyes, ears and a mouth – in that order.  What are you waiting for?  If you claim a faith in Jesus Christ as the Son of God, than you believe He is returning one day to rapture us home. Take a moment and pray about who you need to share this with and how.  They deserve the same opportunity someone gave you many years ago.  Be blessed.

PRAYER:

Heavenly Father,
Create in us a heart of evangelism Lord. Help us to become apostles for Your word and to spread Your truths throughout the globe. Through the use of the internet and the communications mediums available today Lord, let us take every possible option to further Your kingdom on earth. Help us to overcome our insecurities and fear Lord to proudly stand up for Your message of grace, salvation and eternity with You. Place the words on our lips for every circumstance and allow us to be Your feet and hands to the world. Amen
