Prophecy 2: Isaiah 37:31
Once more a remnant of the
house of Judah will take root below and bear fruit above. - Isaiah 37:31
When a seed is planted in the ground,
it is covered by the earth and the miraculous metamorphosis takes place, the
grain of seed is eliminated but produces fruit in its place. The genetic code
of every seed will produce exactly what is planted. A root will grow downward
and strengthen the stalk, stem or vine which will grow upward. From the stem
comes multiple seeds of the same grain as the original. In turn these seeds
will produce multiple seeds when planted and so on and so on.
In this prophecy, Isaiah is pointing to
the future fruit from the house of Judah. Written 700 B.C. he was foretelling
of the Messiah, with a lineage through the Jewish fathers - Abraham, Isaac,
Jacob, Judah, and David. Jesus Christ is that remnant referenced by Isaiah.
When Christ died and was buried, his root was strengthened by his legacy and
his genetics from God the Father. His fruit, the seeds of his works, will
blossom and be cultivated for all time going forward. Every disciple, apostle
and subsequent Christian an image of the original seed of Christ.
Paul reminds us in 1 Corinthians 15;
that the fruit sowed is from the original - wheat produces wheat; grass
produces grass and corn produces corn. v38 "..to every seed his own
body." Therefore as Christians, we are of Christ and carry His fruit with
us. Where we plant, it will grow and multiply. We are an extension of His root
and will continue to produce fruit of His image. This takes becoming intimately
aware of the original though. The Word is your source for the knowledge to
continually feed and strengthen your stem and fruit.
