It’s Not Complicated

Read It, Learn It, Live It, Share It

"The world and its desires pass away, but the man who does the will of God lives forever." - 1 John 2:17

Life is uncertain and will always be filled with changes that cannot be predicted.  Who are you trusting in for your current state of existence?  Are you relying on your employer, your parents, your spouse, your inheritance or are you relying on God?  Think carefully about where you are putting your priorities in this life and then answer the most difficult question that any of us face.  “What happens if tomorrow everything is gone?”

No job, no income, no family, no home, no car.  You wake tomorrow with only the clothes on your back and empty pockets.  What are you going to do?  Take a few moments and jot down your action plan if that were to happen.  Can you become non-reliant on worldly things?  Can you actually get through one day without the luxuries we take for granted each day: home, job, car, computer, cell phone, tablet and food.  Face it you are addicted to worldly things, just like I am and it’s very hard to imagine not having those things and still be joyful and full of peace.

Our life is filled with distractions that draw us away from the one true God.  He wants nothing more than your love and worship.  He requires no payment, He asks for no sacrifice on your part, and He never charges interest.  He is simply wanting your time, and your talents to be focused on His purpose in this world.  He requests a tithe of the blessings He has given you to be given back to His Kingdom.  With this understanding, why are people so adverse to actually pursuing His purpose and telling others about Him?

I believe we have lost sight of our purpose for being on this earth.  We are not here for our pleasure, our success and our benefit.  Yet this is the way we all live our lives each day, “looking out for me”.  Try taking a step back today and ask yourself what is it that you can do for Him, rather than what He is or is not doing for you.  Our purpose is to serve, not to be served by the Creator.  I hope you are able to come away from this pondering with a better purpose led life, because when it all comes down to it, it’s only as complicated as we make it.
