Just Around the Corner

Read It, Learn It, Live It, Share It

“For by Him all things were created, both in the heavens and on earth, visible and invisible, whether thrones or dominions or rulers or authorities-all things have been created through Him and for Him.” –  Colossians 1:16

I walked along the path on that cold October night.  The path was covered by aged oak trees with thick canopy of branches and leaves that hid the night sky and darkened the steps before me.  Each step was carefully placed on the rocky terrain, slowing the progress through the wooded trek.  Periodically, there were beams of light transcending through the branches in creating a soft glow on the overgrown earth below.  From a distance it was absolutely magnificent to see the streams of light ahead of me on the pathway.  Just enough to make the walk less frightening, but not enough to ease my senses, which were still at an all-time high.

Noises came from the sides of the path as if something were following me.  Crickets could be heard in the distance, harmonizing with the bullfrogs and the rippling water of the nearby stream.  Coming around the next bend, my eyes fell upon the pool and the cascading waterfall, gently falling over multiple tiers of rock.  The light reflecting off the pool was amazing.  The crystal clear, mirror like surface reflected the light of the full-moon and lit up the whole surrounding area.  In that moment, fears subsided, my breath was captured in a single moment of awe and insignificance, as I stood before God’s perfect creation.  The small animals of the woods, the pure water, and the surrounding trees and foliage that perfectly wrapped this hidden oasis in the mountains.  His stars were unbelievably bright and infinite in number, and the moon seemed within reach as it poured out it’s reflection of the suns amazing light.

Stop, just for a moment, wherever you are and whatever you are doing.  Stop and thank God for everything He has given you in this world.  Every blade of grass, every drop of rain, every snowflake, every puppy kiss, every kitten purr, every child’s laugh and every friends hug.  You have been incredibly blessed by the Father and Creator of all things.  It may not feel like it many times, and fear is very real and uncertainty abounds; but stay on the path of righteousness and realize that around the next corner He is going to do amazing things for you and through you.  You are His precious child, and you are here to enjoy His creation and to serve His purpose.  Be blessed in knowing you have a Father who loves you more than you can ever imagine.
