God’s Love – The Catalyst

Make 2014 a year of Sharing

“But God demonstrates His own love toward us, in that while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us. Much more then, having now been justified by His blood, we shall be saved from the wrath of God through Him.” – Romans 5:8-9

Why are you a Christian?
It’s not a difficult question that requires significant pontification or wisdom or elaboration to explain.  You are given the choice to accept or not.  If you have made the choice to accept Christ as your Savior and Lord, then why did you do it?  When we look at the event of salvation it is often the first step to what a person believes is their new life of walking with God.  Yet, how many of us take two steps down that path, then look over our shoulder and miss the life that is being left behind.  Many believe that life gets a whole lot easier once you’ve accepted Christ and that all problems will magically disappear.  What a misconception that we are led to believe.  For those of you who have been saved more than a few days, you know that life is no more easy and problems do not disappear just because you walked down the aisle, knelt at the alter or checked a box on the Welcome card.

God sent Jesus Christ to the world as a sacrifice for your sinful life.  So that through Him, you can be brought back to God; having been separated by the sin of mankind.  You need to realize that your sin separates you from God, and in your most earnest, humbling and unselfish manner, you cannot bridge that gap.  The Kingdom of God is developing in this world, all around you.  It is in the dreams of our youth, it is in the hearts of our elderly and it is on the mind of our neighbors.  People are seeking God in this day, with a determination to impact the world.  There is an outpouring of the Holy Spirit all over this world and He is building a strong, mighty church of believers from every tongue, ethnicity, culture and race.  He is drawing His children together in preparation for the battle that lies ahead.

Those of us who claim His mark upon our life are in for an incredible war in the years to come.  You can see it everywhere you turn.  The evil in this world is no longer hiding in the shadows, but coming forth with a vigor and a vengeance to battle God Almighty.  Lives are in the balance and your children, your friends and your family are in the crosshairs of the evil one of this world.  It’s seeping through the cracks in our life, those small places that cling to the life we had before.  As the darkness spreads through this world we are called to stand firm in our faith and take His word to the people.  Our place in this battle is a daily walk with our Creator and an outpouring of His love to those around us.  You are the Kingdom of God and you must take your position on the front line.

Standing, watching and waiting for others to defend our Father’s Kingdom is not what we are called into.   You have been given the power and authority of God Almighty to stand strong and firm in this world.  Yet, for many fear stands between you and your calling to serve.  I ask you today to stand up, reconcile your life with the love that God poured forth through His Son, Jesus Christ, and live for Him.  Return to Him what was rightfully His, before Satan took it.  Return your life back to the One who created you, and realize that His purpose for you on this earth is made possible because of His Holy Spirit dwelling within you.  Embrace it, cherish it, let it unfold and then live it.  Live His love, His purpose and walk in His light today and every day from here forward.  For through your walk, lives will be changed and others will be brought out of the world and into His Kingdom.  You are a Christian in order to serve the most High God, period.
