"I am the Alpha and the Omega, the Beginning and the End, says the
Lord God, He Who is and Who was and Who is to come, the Almighty" –
Revelation 1:8
Some say; "There is no such thing as God." or "God is just a crutch for those too weak to face the realities of
life."
I've seen bumper stickers of this
nature while driving to and from work. It brings to mind the frailty of human
arrogance. For someone to deny that there is a creator means the following to
me:
· A lack of purpose,
what value does a life hold
· Man is the supreme
being, which inadvertently leads to self righteousness
· An incapability of
faith, hope or trust - most require evidence
· Confusion or
uncertainty around death - belief it is final
· Being "open
minded" is just another way of saying you're wrong
Believing in God requires the following:
· Faith in something
unseen
· Accepting that we
cannot know everything, but everything is known
· Acknowledgement that
there is an order to the Universe
· Accepting that there
is eternal life beyond death
· Hope in the saving
grace as sufficient for eternal life in heaven
· God is love and
ultimate truth while society is built on tolerance
There is a serious problem in today's world. Many Christian's (members of a religious group which believe in One God, and One salvation through Jesus Christ, His Son, and an intimate relationship with the Holy Spirit) have minimized the relevance of God the Father by living our lives as if He doesn't exist. Claiming to be a Christian comes along with the conviction, courage and fortitude to stand up for what Jesus Christ died for. I, like many of you, am unwilling to step outside of my comfort zone to discuss the faith and testimony that we are saved by. In our weakness, the opportunity abounds for individuals to seek alternative philosophy's and scientific reasoning for our existence.
We all need to take a stronger stand for our foundational beliefs. There is no such thing as 1/2 a Christian. Jesus Christ died for your salvation, and in our acceptance of that we need to "put on" the fullness of what that means. Join me in stepping up our efforts to share our faith. Keeping in mind that you cannot save someone, that is between God and that person. But, you can share your story and tell of the love Your Father has for You, and what it means to accept Jesus Christ. It doesn't have to be elaborate or perfect or scripted, it has to be from the heart and let God use it. You are a son/daughter of the most High God and you are empowered by the Holy Spirit to share His love. Be blessed my friends.
PRAYER:
Almighty Creator, God of the Universe,
We acknowledge your Supremacy and Sovereignty despite what the world may believe. We come before You, Lord, with our minds and hearts open for Your wisdom and love to fill us. Fill us to overflowing that we might be able to spill over in our conversations and life Lord. Raise up a fire within Your church to change the world - one soul at a time or by the hundreds Lord, however You can use us. Bless the readers of this message Lord, with confidence, courage and endurance to do Your will and be Your hands and feet. Your omnipotence and love will reign down upon us as we evangelize Your message to the world. Bless this mission Lord. - Amen
