"For I know the plans I have for you," declares the LORD, "plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future." - Jeremiah 29:11
Celebrating the life that has been given involves sharing the love that has been given. For where there is love, life begins and where there is none, sorrow ensues. Love is so much more than a physical or emotional condition the binds two hearts together. It is inherent in each of us and yet buried by many by choices made throughout life. Choices that have caused scarring. Choices that have chipped away at one’s self worth. Choices that were forced against the will of the recipient. Choices for temporary joy, pleasure and gain, yet emptiness lingers.
The Lord’s plan for mankind is to be absorbed in the love that He has woven into our very being. Why were you born? Not a day of your life was intended for hate, anger or evil. No, just the opposite. Despite the sequence of events that led to your creation, from the moment of conception there has been a plan in place. The decisions we make establish our ability to execute to that plan. God’s not changing His plans for our life, the reality is that for the most part we have a hard time accepting what inherently we know that plan is. We were born to love the Lord, and others as He has loved us. In doing so our hope in a future is restored, we come to realize that there is a reason to celebrate the life we have been given.
Prayer:
Heavenly Lord,
You have given us a love that is beyond measure, unconditional and immutable. We can run, we can hide and deny it, but it never moves. It is enduring and everlasting despite our unrighteousness. Help me to recognize Your love and live within it. Help me to share Your love with others, that they may also rest in Your glory and grace. Amen
